About Girodat Seeds

Girodat Seeds

We Are A Family Farm.

In 1988 Gerald Girodat started producing pedigreed seed. He began with 80 acres of spring wheat. Today Girodat Seeds Ltd., run together by Gerald and his son Jason, is a family-operated business that grows, processes and sells many varieties of spring, winter and durum wheat, barley, triticale, chick peas, peas, lentils and flax on our farm near Shaunavon, in southwest Saskatchewan.

All seed crops are processed through our own seed plant, which was built in 1987 with a major upgrade in 2000. Our seed plant has been an authorized establishment since 1988 and operates under the standards set by CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency) and CSI (Canadian Seeds Institute).

Girodat Seeds Ltd. is a dealer for varieties from Canterra Seeds, FP Genetics, SeCan Association and Pickseed Premium Forages. Our relationships with these companies give us access to many of the newest varieties of all crop types. As well, we are members of Saskatchewan Seeds Growers Association and Canadian Seed Growers Association. Through these associations we have connections with over 500 of the top seed producers in western Canada, allowing us to source the varieties you want even if we don’t grow them ourselves.

We are always happy to speak with you about your seed needs. Please feel free to Contact Us.
